Anthropologie Store Features Cement Tile
Anthropologie is definitely an unusual shopping experience. Friday, April 16th, 2010 they're moving to the Meat Packing District to debut their brand new Chelsea Market location. This new Anthro will feature one-of-a-kind collections like re-designed vintage dresses and exclusive pieces from designers the likes of Vera Wang and Vivienne Westwood. The new 9,000 square foot location opens today in Manhattan's Chelsea Market and is full of items unique to this location. Chelsea Market, 75 9th Avenue, (between 15th and 16th streets); 212-620-3116 Hours: Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, 11 am - 7 pm. All of this on a backdrop of beautiful cemen tile. We didn't supply the tile but we admire them for making use of this fabo classic material.
The new store is located in the former Nabisco plant. There is some incredible tile work that spells out National Biscuit Company downstairs.

What I want to know is how on earth did they mount the tiles on the ceiling ? These tiles are so very heavy, I just can't imagine what the tile layers went through.
