Neyland Design Cement Tiles has been selected as a 2022 A+Product Award Winner

Villa Lagoon Tile is thrilled to announce that Neyland Design Cement Tiles is the 2022 Architizer A+Product Awards Winner of both the Jury and Popular Choice vote in the Hard Flooring category.

Villa Lagoon Tile is proud to exclusively offer N-Finity Tiles, a large collection of handmade cement tiles from designer Stu Neyland of Neyland Design. These designs offer patterning of the utmost flexibility and versatility, with tiles that can be arranged in any direction to create random or traditional repeat patterns.

The N-Finity Collection originally featured 12 unique patterns and has now expanded to over 60. From geometric to ethnic, all designed to achieve aesthetic balance no matter how you place them, which makes each installation a unique work of art.

Stu Neyland is inspired by the natural beauty around him on the
the island he calls home off the west coast of Florida. Always enamored
with the play of negative and positive shapes, especially in nature; those are the inspirations you will see reflected in the designs as he brings art into homes, businesses, and outdoor living spaces.

Architizer’s core mission is to Empower Architects by connecting designers with building-product manufacturers, and via their inspiring content, awards programs, competitions and global reach spotlighting the world’s best architecture. Connecting architects with the tools they need to build better buildings, better cities, and a better world.

About the Awards:
Every architect and designer knows it takes spectacular products and materials to make their designs a reality. The A+Product Awards honors the elements behind the globe’s most inspiring contemporary buildings — as chosen by the architects and design professionals that specify them every day.

Villa Lagoon Tile Wins Big at the 2019 HD Expo Trade Show

Villa Lagoon Tile cemented great relationships with hospitality designers at the 2019 HD Expo show when our Ombré Collection won the prestigious ASID DESIGN IMPACT Award.

“No sooner than the P.A. system announced the launch of the show, a striking crowd began gathering near our booth,” said John Adams, Villa Lagoon Tile director of technology and long-time employee. “Next thing I know, I’m shaking hands with Randy Fiser, CEO of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and trying to comprehend that they were telling us, ‘you won!’”

ASID believes that design impacts lives, and seeks to recognize companies who make that belief a priority in their work. We count Villa Lagoon Tile among those organizations.

The Ombré Cement Tile series, inspired by the traditional textile technique of dying or weaving color from dark to light, is the result of nearly a half-year of work between our designer, Melissa Adams Dillon, and the cement tile artisans at our studio.

Melissa was also part of the team behind our new Cuban Collection that debuted at the show, a team that included our Founder-Designer Lundy Wilder. Inspired by their research trip to Cuba, the two women created a series that honors the traditional floors they observed, while also adding new, contemporary options to the genre.

And as if all that hasn’t kept Melissa busy enough, she also led the team in launching our new Watercolor series, mesmerizing pigmented color that flows freely, as if on a watercolor painting.

Cement tile is perfect for hospitality projects as evident in these gorgeous restaurant installations. Our exclusive cement tile design tool makes it easy to create and order one-of-a-kind signature looks for your hospitality projects.

As happily unexpected as it was to win the ASID Impact award, the unexpected is what Villa Lagoon Tile always strives for as we continually push the boundaries of design and performance in cement tile offerings.

Cement Tile: Not Just for the Floor Anymore!

HGTV Magazine Cober july/August 2018We at Villa Lagoon Tile are all aflutter about the current issue of HGTV Magazine. In this July/August 2018 edition, you will be sure to spot the hippest little mid-century pad that just so happens to rock our cement tile! Owners Dave and Brennen together with the online design company Laurel & Wolf reimagined their condo right into the 21st century.

Pick up or download a copy today so you can tour this amazing home!

Our favorite feature of this home (yes, totally biased!) is the 10ft long kitchen peninsula dressed in our Solid “Seaside Blue” Hexagonal Cement Tile. The natural tonal variation seen from tile to tile introduces an organic element to the space’s modern design by giving it movement and character. We absolutely love to see our tile on verticle surfaces like this! In fact, both homes in the “House Tours” section of the current HGTV Magazine feature cement tile on the wall.  It’s a great way to up your design game by reinventing the boring backsplash or highlighting the sometimes overlooked design elements in your space. For your next project consider adding cement tile to a bar front, fireplace, alcoves, stair risers, or hello, who doesn’t love a good feature wall?  Villa Lagoon Tile can make a thinner version of almost all of our tiles making the verticle application of cement tile even easier! To help inspire your next project we’ve put together this collection of installations starring our cement tile on the backsplash and beyond!

Going Ga-Ga for Google

google logo with tile background

We are just blown over by all the love that Google has been showing us lately!

(YES, THAT GOOGLE!)

We’re so proud to be featured for our state of Alabama in Google’s Economic Impact Report. The purpose of the EI Report is to highlight Google’s local economic impact across America and they chose Villa Lagoon Tile as an example of a small business that has utilized the web to build and grow. They sent out an awesome photographer, Rick Olivier, to get some shots for the report and are even flying two VLT team members out to Cali for a visit to the Googleplex, to learn, network, and explore with the other successful businesses representing their states.

Google photoshoot fun!

Google also featured VLT in their Instagram series: “Small Biz Stories”!

AD Features Creme Design’s L’Amico NYC

Villa Lagoon Tile’s angular patterns “Tugboat” & “Man Overboard” (Named after the Nautical flags they represent)  create a lively floor in the new L’Amico NYC, a new restaurant from well known chef Laurent Tourondel in the Eventi Hotel. He is serving an Italian-influenced menu in a chic semi-rustic setting. We spotted a photo and a tantalizing description of the good eats in Architectural Digest.
