Villa Lagoon Tile is pleased to offer Delft tile reproductions as our newest line of tiles for the kitchen and bath. Typically recognized by a single bluish colored figure on a white background, Delft tiles have been used since the 16th century. Our reproductions capture the same simple elegance and tradition that has kept the style alive more more than 400 years.
Our Delft tiles are made from hand-painted images thermally sealed into the ceramic tile. Read more below under installation photos.
Our tiles may be used alone or with other ceramic tiles to produce a unique design and interior theme. We believe these tiles add character and style in many situations – kitchen and bathroom backsplashes, showers, fireplace mantels, chair rails, or wet bars.

About Our Ceramic Tiles: Our ceramic tile is a highly resilient and scratch resistant satin matte finish wall tile. It is recommended for vivid photo and art reproductions. Villa Lagoon Ceramic Tile is perfect for kitchen backsplashes and showers. You may use any commercially available adhesive for ceramic tile. These tiles may be used for outside installations only where freeze/thaw is not a factor. Our tiles are treated with UV inhibitors to resist fading in indirect sunlight. They are not recommended for outdoor "direct sunlight" applications. We recommend un-sanded grout only. Our ceramic tiles can be cleaned with any household non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use bleaches or abrasives, as they can harm your mural. Products such as Softscrub should not be used. No form of tape should ever be applied to the face of the tiles, and the tiles should not be cut.
The term delft is derived from the Dutch town of Delft. The Netherlands began to produce tin-glazed earthenware in the late 15 century. Potteries were established in many parts of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, Haarlem and Rotterdam, but by the late 17 century Delft had become the most important centre of production and nearly 30 companies were working in the area. The original delft tile designs came about when Chinese porcelain stopped being imported in the mid 17 century and the popular Chinese wares were reproduced in blue and white.
