The Ribbon Border Tile as a Field Tile

This small half bath has a floor that uses the Ribbon Border cement tile on the diagonal. It lends a dramatic flair to an otherwise boring small space. Some think that a diagonal layout makes a room appear to be larger than it is. To install a floor like this one, watch your installers carefully. Have then cut diagonal tiles only as needed so you minimize waste as this layout will require a bit more tile than a typical 90 degree-to-wall tile layout anyway. We find that if they cut the 45's ahead of time, they do not pay attention to which corners to cut across and since it is a pattern that must be matched exactly, you will end up with extra cut tile you can't use. |
