These are 4" square Glazed Zellige tiles (100x100x11mm). Made by hand in Fez, Morocco, these are authentic Zellige (zellij), produced with the traditional clay, using kilns fueled by olive pits. These Moroccan mosaic tiles are perhaps the most famous of Moroccan handicrafts.
Friendly Reminder: Zellige colors have high variation, so one sample tile may not fully reflect the tones of a full box. A single sample is meant to show the finish, thickness, edges, and color mood. We've taken multiple photos from different batches to help set accurate expectations.
As a hand-crafted product, the opportunity to order custom Zellige is limitless. From custom shapes and sizes and a host of colors, let us produce your bespoke Zellige installation. Our artisans can even produce and layout elaborate mosaics, arranged and glued to mesh mats for easier jobsite installation... just ask us for details. The minimum order for a custom Zellige mosaic is 75 square feet. Lead times typically range from 6 to 16 weeks, depending on the shipping method selected, including air freight, express UPS, or sea transport.

Deep Forest Zellige Craftsman Fireplace
In this 1928 Craftsman home restoration, designer Marcella DiLonardo (Modest Marce) creates a stunning monochromatic focal point using authentic Deep Forest glazed Zellige tiles to surround a vintage cast-iron fireplace insert. The tonal pairing of the forest green architectural mantel with the high-gloss, artisanal texture of the Zellige tiles exemplifies a "New Traditional" aesthetic that honors heritage through bold, saturated color.
Marcella DiLonardo of Modest Marce expertly blends historical charm with modern bold color in this 1928 Craftsman home restoration. The fireplace features a color-drenched forest green mantel that perfectly complements the rich, tonal variations of the Deep Forest glazed Zellige tile surround, creating a sophisticated and tactile focal point against textured neutral wallpaper.
In this masterful 1928 Craftsman home restoration, designer Marcella DiLonardo (founder of Modest Marce) utilizes a monochromatic "color-drenching" technique to create a seamless transition between the architectural mantel and the hearth. The fireplace is finished with authentic Deep Forest glazed Zellige tiles, whose organic, undulating surfaces provide a rich, jewel-toned contrast to the matte forest green millwork and vintage cast-iron insert.
