These are a mosaic blend of 4"x2" hex (100x50mm) and 2" square (50mm) Glazed Zellige tiles, mounted on a mesh sheet for easy installation. Produced by hand in Fez, Morocco with the traditional local clays, these are authentic Zellige (zellij). The mosaics are mounted on a roughly 12" mesh mat. The arrangement is about 12 ⅜" (31.5 cm at the widest and tallest), but interlock and repeat at about 11" (28 cm) per course.
Our "Marais" zellige are arranged in a mosaic that channels the ornate beauty of the stained glass windows in Paris’s historic Marais district. "Marais" and the color choices here were curated by famed desinger Christina Salway in our collaboration "La Campagne et La Cité", born from her decades of travel exploring the cities and contryside of France.
As a hand-crafted product, the opportunity to order custom Zellige is limitless. From custom shapes and sizes and a host of colors, let us produce your bespoke Zellige installation. Our artisans can even produce and layout elaborate mosaics, arranged and glued to mesh mats for easier jobsite installation... just ask us for details. The minimum order for a custom Zellige mosaic is 75 square feet. Lead times typically range from 6 to 16 weeks, depending on the shipping method selected, including air freight, express UPS, or sea transport.
