These are 5½" Bejmat tiles (140x45x20mm). Bejmat are a particular style of rectangular Glazed Zellige tiles for use in light-traffic floor applications. Produced by hand in Fez, Morocco, these Moroccan mosaic floor tiles are known the world over. Still made with the local clays, and fired in kilns powered by olive pits, these rectangular floor tiles are authentic Zellige (zellij).
Friendly Reminder: Zellige colors have high variation, so one sample tile may not fully reflect the tones of a full box. A single sample is meant to show the finish, thickness, edges, and color mood. We've taken multiple photos from different batches to help set accurate expectations.
As a hand-crafted product, the opportunity to order custom Zellige is limitless. From custom shapes and sizes and a host of colors, let us produce your bespoke Zellige installation. Our artisans can even produce and layout elaborate mosaics, arranged and glued to mesh mats for easier jobsite installation... just ask us for details. The minimum order for a custom Zellige mosaic is 75 square feet. Lead times typically range from 6 to 16 weeks, depending on the shipping method selected, including air freight, express UPS, or sea transport.
