Custom Zellige Tile

These are the standard colors for our authentic custom Zellige Tile, hand-made in Fez, Morocco. Variations in weather conditions, and heating times and temperatures in the millenia-old method of olive-pit fueled kilns causes rich variations from tile to tile. These variations may be greater or lesser from firing to firing, and no two installations can ever be alike.

Each custom Zellige tile is shaped, glazed, and fired by skilled artisans who rely on experience rather than automation, which means subtle shifts in tone, texture, and sheen are part of the magic. Some custom Zellige mosaic tiles may display gentle surface ripples, tiny glaze pools, or nuanced color movement that catches the light differently throughout the day.  

These natural characteristics are not imperfections—they are hallmarks of true bespoke Zellige tile craftsmanship. When installed, the interplay between tiles creates depth and dimension that machine-made products simply can’t replicate. The result is a surface that feels alive, layered, and deeply rooted in centuries of Moroccan tradition.
